I booked a family canyoning trip for myself, my girlfriend and our daughters of six and eight via the website of KAYACORDE and it turned out to be a highlight of our holiday in Ardèche.
The activity itself was very entertaining : We made our way through a section of the river, altering walking and swimming with natural slides and jumps from rocks up to six metres high. Adults and children alike enjoyed plenty of thrills.
Our bearded guided and his apprentice son proved very professional and skilled. They helped everyone position for the slides and explained how and where to jump. All obstacles could be bypassed for anyone who was not up for the challenge. There was no rush.
My youngest daughter was afraid and our guide handled this extremely well : He was very patient, calm and respectful and got her to stop crying. He even carried her most of the way so us parents and our older daughter could enjoy the canyoning to the fullest. We are very grateful for his gesture.
Needless to say I warmly recommend KAYCORDE to anyone fancying some action in Ardèche (whether it be canyoning, canoeing or via ferrata), and even more so if you have children.
